The inventor of the world wide Web is coming to Australia – how exciting!   In 1989, Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, an internet-based hypermedia initiative for global information sharing while at CERN, the European Particle Physics Laboratory. Not too long after that, in 1990, he wrote the first web client and server in 1990.  As this amazing technology spread – the specifications of URLs, HTTP and HTML were refined.

For the first time in 15 years, the Inventor Of The Internet, Sir Tim Berners-Lee is visiting Australia.

It seems that big thanks is due to the organising team of linux.conf.au 2013 for inviting the inventor of the internet to do the Keynote Address and Pia Waugh (Open Government expert and Partner&Prosper) for co-ordinating the tour.
