You answered a question on Wishlist Insider that I’d been wondering about for a while. I thought it would be worth bringing you one I can’t seem to get an answer to:

Using the Quiz Plugin on Wishlist Member, I would like to display on the Quiz Completion page the date the quiz was passed and/or the member was added to the resulting level (which is the same thing).

That page serves as a defacto “certificate” for our site awarded for passing a course — and we really need to be able to put a permanent date on that certificate (NOT just the current date for whenever the page is viewed). The idea is that the member may come back to this page in the future and it needs to have that original date.

I hope this question makes sense. I’m attaching a screen shot of the page.

  1. Hi Christopher,

Thanks for your question.  There is no ‘standard’ function in Wishlist member to get the date added to level.

You would have to write a function that uses the WLM api to retrieve this value from the database.  I’ve tested this using the Version 2.0 WLM api, very quickly and can retrieve the value.

You need to review the documentation for the api at:
    http://wishlistproducts.com/api

There is a webinar showing how to use the WLM Version 2.0 api that you can watch here:
    http://wishlistproducts.com/wishlist-member-api-tour-webinar-replay/

You would need to use the ‘/members’ api call and dig down into the returned results to get the date added to level for the specific user.

We’ve created similar functions and plugins for clients and could refine the test code we’ve created to test this – if you’re interested, please contact us at http://askcharlyleetham.com/about/contact-us and we’ll work through a full scope of work etc.

    Cheers,
    Charly.
