As anyone who knows me knows…. I think Gravity Forms are the bomb!  Definitely Contact Forms on steroids for WordPress and the fact they offer an API to allow us, as website developers, to extend the functionality is just icing on the cake.

One of the great features of Gravity Forms in the HoneyPot AntiSpam protection. A honeypot is a trap set to detect, deflect, or in some manner counteract attempts at unauthorized use of information systems.  Basically, people set up systems that literally encourage spammers to harvest information – these systems record the IP address and other information.  This information is then used to profile activities on websites to detect behaviours that may be classed as spamming. It’s way more intense than that, but that’s the gist of it. With Gravity Form, rather than using the rather unattractive and often off-putting “captcha” field, it is possible to use a honeypot system to ensure that your form is not being submitted as spam.

This weeks podcast shows you how.
